Rocker Snare? Last viewed: 8 hours ago

Ok, A fiend picked up a snare drum at a flea market, Blue Olive Badge # 3120250...shell is chrome over wood, P85 strainer. These pics are not of the one he picked up, I lost my phone (boo) I suspect someone changed the badge? Thoughts. The snare did come with a case and stand. Student model? The sticker on the case is from Zeswitz Music, they rent musical instruments to school students in the PA area.

Lugs look like "Standard" line.

Guys, were these lugs used on any other lines then the Standards?

It's the lugs that get me too, but wouldn't it stand to reason it would have a Standard Badge if it were the Standard Line?

I loved my Standard COW snare b/w badge. Sounded great and man was it loud.

I may have to get another. They go for well under $100. A good investment.

Ludwig made these in b/o badge with bowtie lugs, b/o badge with rocker lugs, and b/w badge with rocker lugs. the blue olive badge model is shown in the 84 catalog as a s/l drum. something for less. most are 4 ply. they sound very nice. ive got one in 5" depth and one in 6.5 depth. very underrated drums.

Lots of the Rocker series drums used the same lug design as the Standards. Actually there were probably more Rockers made wearing that lug in the mid/late 80s than Standards in the late 60s/early 70s.

These were called the "SL" model for a couple of years between the Standard and the Rocker models.
