From Wado

Sorry Rogersling, I gotta respectfully disagree. I think in the matter of drum sounds its all matter of opinion and I think Ringos sounds were fantastic. I dont know about the lack of warm tones, I think even when he used the muffling, it was still warm e.g. "Something". As I said its all matter of opinion and there is no right or wrong answer. New drums are meant to be superior and have better sounds than old ones but I also have to disagree with that and I know Id have some backing otherwise most of you wouldnt be on this site. I do respect your opinion though and if you think Ringo didnt have good sounds then good on you and your no different to me thinking he had great sounds and tones. I think though that he thought well outside the square and didnt think ok im gonna tune my drums to sound how drums "should" sound and instead created new sounds. Anyway sorry about my rant :)

seriously good point. He did shoot for his own sounds ... with Martin et al. I've just never been a fan of that very muffled sound. I like a drum to sing ... but that's me. I like your post. Thanks for the insight and the very cool attitude. Nice.

Love Ringo, but sometimes the drum sounds are bleak. Listen to Hey Jude, sounds like he is playing cardboard boxes...but the ride is awesome!
