Ringo's "Ed Sullivan" Snare- Great article on Reverb Last viewed: 11 hours ago

Well written and interesting. I've seen Gary Astridge speak a few times at the Chicago Drum Show. We can all appreciate his quest and "geekiness"!

Although, I'm calling BS on the first article photo of Gary and Ringo. No swivo mount on those drums, looks like a Ludwig to me. EDIT: Thanks to the response from K.O. below, I stand corrected. I thought all of his kits had the Swivo mod. I learned something new!

I can assure you that all of the photos in the article are genuine and that any descriptions are 100% accurate. Gary is one of the most dedicated people I know and takes any Ringo related information very seriously.

That's set #1 of the four Ringo had in OBP. The one that was sold by Ringo a couple years back. It never received the Swivo modification like the other three did. So it's also the only one of the three with no extra holes in it. Odd that Ringo chose to sell this one, his first OBP set that was used in the initial wave of Beatlemania in England and to record a number of their early hits (set #4 would have been the better candidate to offload, only used live on a couple of tours and not at all, or very little, anyway, in the studio).
