Ringo Jazzmaster value?

Loading...

I have a Jazzmaster snare in mint original condition. The date is Nov 27 1965 stamped on the inside shell which you can view by looking through the vent hole. It was my first snare drum (rental) when I was in grade school. Is there some way to find out it's value other than an ebay auction or something? I found the website "A Snare So Rare" and mine is identical to the one pictured in black oyster pearl. I've been told it could be worth a lot.

Any comments?

The model name is "Jazz Festival". If it is truly mint (you never played it or used it or left it in sunlight to fade a bit?), they sell for up to 4500 on ebay. Well, one sold for that, two or three years ago.

I'd value a mint Oyster Black Pearl mid 1960's Jazz Festival model drum at around around 3,000-4,000.

BTW, the drum that sold for 4500 bucks on ebay was priced at 2700 bucks two weeks before the ebay sale. I turned it down, already got one.

We'd need to see photos...there's a lot of little details that can make a huge difference in value.

would like to see that pic...I highly doubt you got a black oyster Jazzfestival snare drum for $550....rewrapped maybe but you paid $250 too much and if this guys snare is actually like the "Ringo" snare, like the one I posted that drew like 3 responses, $4,500.00 is not enough...........respond to that all you drum Guru's!!!

Is Black Oyster Pearl the same as BDP (a.k.a. Black Diamond Pearl) ??? I thought they were two different wraps, but don't pay much attention to Ludwig so could have been mistaken.

black diamond pearl and black oyster pearl are two totally separate wraps.
