Rewraping floor tom

This may be a stupid question but here goes is it possible to re wrap over the existing wrap and just glue ir at the seam that way I still have the original wrap if I ever want to sell

Likely the additional thickness of both wraps will not allow a head to fit correctly

You would need to cut it 1in from the ends i don't think you would never know .
