Removing hardware from a Luddy Super Sensitive Last viewed: 11 hours ago

Hi all!

I just picked up a Ludwig Super Sensitive, and it needs a lil' TLC. I can't seem to figure out how to remove the wires and the lugs. Has anyone ever taken one of these apart?

There is a decent build-up of gunk around the lugs and moving parts that I'd really like to clean off.

Thanks!

You will have to remove the heads first of all,i you haven't yet. Then start taking off the screws inside and watch the cup washers. Take pix of your progress so you get back together properly.

NEVER use steel wool on any of the shiny parts. I use a T-rod driver (found at Musicians Friend etc.) in my screw gun and mineral oil for the screws. It gets all that gunk out and leaves them lubricated. Drive the rods in and out o the wool and viola, they are clean and lubed.

T-Rod driver! Of course!

I have that Evans drill bit, but doesn't fit these lug screws. (Evans has 4 sides, screws have 5)

I will be getting a T-Driver today though, and thanks!

Hit a road bump at the hardware store. It seems 8/32 is too big, 7/32 is too small. 7mm is too big as well, and the store didn't carry a 6mm, so I'll try another store on the way to work.

I didn't think it would be this hard!! lol
