Hi,
Last year my ludwig floor tom shell began to come unglued at the seam. So, I went to my local music store and asked what I should. The music person told me to apply alligator glue along the back of the seam, to place a wooden stake running along the seam, to wrap a rope around the wooden stake, to wrap the rope around the circumference of the drum, at the ends of the rope to take a drum stick to tighten the rope that would keep the wooden stake applied pressure against the seam. Im not sure if that is what I should have done or not but I did it and I have glue residue that seeped out from the squeezing as the glue dried and not sure how to get that off the drum as ypi can see from the first picture.
Also, the seam on my ludwig bass drum has also lifted as you can see from the second picture and wanted to know what glue I should use and a method to use to apply the pressure to keep the glue sticking to the underneath part of the seam and how to take the glue residue off of it as well. The shell edge looks jagged in this resized smaller picture but in the actual picture it shows the edge clean and straight. Thank you for all your recommendations. Robert
