Of the two new pictured drums, one looks like it has a conventional head and one looks like it has a PTS head. You can see a conventional head's flesh hoop on one, but no flesh hoop on the other, which could indicate a PTS head.

I also found pics of a similar drum on Remo's support forum HERE, and it's definitely a PTS head on that drum. (Whether or not it's original, who knows?)

Think it could be possible that this drum is engineered to accept both types of heads and that's why they switched to those crazy quick release lugs over the clips? Hmmmm
