Did anyone else notice on eBay this past weekend a 1980's Tama bell brass sold for over $4800?

yup i saw that ....... crazy that could buy you a battery of nice drums. a sonor cast hld 594 hit 1850..... old cast snares are sure bringing in the bucks

Thats nut's but if i had the cash to throw around i would go for it .

Back in the late 80's i had a chance to buy one for $650 , At the age of 18 that seemed like $50000 to me at the time , My hourly rate working back then was $5.00 an hour.

It "sold" to someone with zero feedback

It had also been hand-sanded (poorly), so looks like someone was either completely misguided, or artificially driving up the price

My bet is a re-list.That rough sanded finish is exactly how the earlier drums were finished,in fact some were even rougher.There was one a couple of years ago that had the long superstar type of lugs,but the 5mm shell that went for 7500,and there was no re-list.

I had a chance to pick one up for $400 when I was 13. It may as well have been a million.... However, had I robbed a bank, I'd be out by now enjoying the drum... Excited
