Recent Slingerland find Last viewed: 1 hour ago

I found this on eBay and after a long 2 weeks of it being shipped to the wrong person and being reshipped and whatever, I finally got it. Come to find out it's a Slingerland Super Sound. I can't find much information about it besides the catalog scans and a few blogs. I also can't find many on ebay because it does need a few parts. Can anyone tell me anything more about it? Are they rare or were not that popular?

Supersensitives go in & out of fashion. They sound great when everything is working & set up properly. But, through word of mouth, they have a reputation for being difficult, overly complicated, heavy, difficult to transport , & vulnerable to bending & breakdown. In the end , the "extra" sensitivity is thought to be just not worth the expense & trouble. ( also, this particular model did not have any endorsers, & few were sold)

Those are cool snares. What year is yours? 10 lugs and the super strainer they used looks like a 3 point on steroids. Kind of a neat design but with what tdennis says seem to be a hassle. How much is it missing?

I believe that it's about a 1973 or so. The serial number is 24800. I'm missing the bottom hoop, most of the dual strainer, and a few screws. It needs a cleaning bad so I now have a new project.
