Rare Rogers Dyna-Sonic Snare

Loading...

Just joined the forum. Doing research on my Rogers snare. I'm trying to hone in on the date (late 60's, early 70's I think) and approximate value. I'm thinking about selling it. I've been told that this is a pretty rare find. Any other background info would be great.

Here are the specifics I know:

Finish - natural blond lacquer

serial# 29423

Model - Dyna-Sonic, Custom Built

Size - 6.5"x14"

10 self-aligning lugs

All original hardware

See pictures for more details. I'm happy to provide more info if requested. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks! Sharon

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Good picture of the interior will help. Hex head or round head screws on the lug mounts?

Looks like 70's bottom rim since the end gates are not screwed onto the rim.

Need a clear photo of the grommet inside, and of the rerings and edges.

A natural finish was not offered in the time period of that drum: at the least it has been stripped of it's wrap and varnished.

I think it`s a 64/67 and was available in that size with wood shell/wrap. It`s not all there.

I don't recall Rogers offering blond lacquer finishes back then - and where's the snare frame? That's what makes it a Dyna-Sonic.

Is this the original shell?

I believe the shell interior should have the sealer, not be bare wood. A better pic would be nice.

Some missing parts(the whole Dyna assembly), later bottom rim. Looks like a replacement grommet too. Pitted logo, but no scratches on the shell????

I'd guess a metal donor snare and this is a repro. Where did you get it, and what did you pay for it?

I'd need more pictures, but that's my guess.Kiss

. Bottom Hoop, not at 29000. Give us some history. And a lot more detail of the interior. Especially the badge and grommet Shell layup, reinforcement rings on the inner edge. 29000 never saw 1967. I hope you only paid a max of 400.
