Funny, I caught the end of that last night too. Nice drums. Looked like the actor actually knew how to play.

Well I haven't seen the movie but I did check youtube and found a clip where a 4 piece wmp ludwig is being played and it is indeed sweet

but this does bring up an interesting topic to talk about, vintage drums in movies!

I was watching So I Married an Axe Murderer (Mike Meyers) and when he does his poetry in the club, the band backs him and teh drummer plays on a neato club date WMP Ludwig set.

Mike Meyeres (again!) in Austin Powers -his band "Ming Tea" featured a vintage ARBITER! Autotune kit! Also, a really "out there" clip from a movie called "Zachariah" featuring Elvin Jones on a nice Gretsch kit!

Hey, Jim...

Yeah, I love Arbiter drums. I may be in the minority in that regard, but, as far as "different" designs are concerned, I think Ivor Arbiter really had a vision. I bought my kit back in 1999 and I think I have played them everyday since then. The design works very well.

btw...Arbiter is known for two differet lugless designs...the earlier "Autotune" drums (in the clip) and the more modern version...the "AT".

Never saw "That Thing you do"?!? What are you waiting for?

A movie about a drummer who joins a mediocre band and helps fast track them to fame. The gutarist shows his true colors and turns into a jerk, and in the end, the drummer gets the girl! Boy if that doesn't sound like the story of my life!
