"period Correct" Rogers Rims Last viewed: 8 hours ago

Loading...

I've got a Cleveland-era Rogers kit with beavertail lugs. The serial numbers on the Rogers labels are in the 41xxx range.

It's my understanding that the kits with B&B lugs were issued with the company's "tall" hoops. However, I recall reading somewhere that the company also issued some beavertail kits with "tall" hoops.

If this is true, what factor (or factors) determined which hoop was issued with the Cleveland-era beavertail kits? Was it the particular model of the kit, the serial numbers on the labels, something else? If it happens to be the specific year of manufacture, is there a way one can tell definitively what year a Rogers kit was made?

I'm simply trying to determine the "correct" (if there is one!) rim that should be on the drums of my particular kit.

Any "words of wisdom" would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Beavertail drums with Tall Hoops are just Transition drums.......

They were simply using up old stock hoops on new style drums.

Ludwig/Slingerland,everyone would do that.......pretty stupid to throw out 100-200 hoops they would be sitting around.
