"CORRECT" 1958 Slingerland BD Claw & Rod Last viewed: 1 day ago

I recently picked up some Slingerland shells in original WMP wrap date stamped 1958.

I'm trying to complete the bass drum and need to determine which claws and rods are "period correct" for this particular drum since I've seen two different configurations advertised as such. The shell on the bass drum is dated June 21, 1958. I've attached a few pics of the two different claws & t-rods. Any "words of wisdom" would be greatly apprecited. Thanks!

This is the transition period, could be either, I like the forgive the pun> Oldschool ones better, but either are correct.

THANKS for your time and your input! I (shockingly!) tend to agree with you. It will be interesting to see which ones are more readily available and at what price.

they both pop up fairly often on preybay, also here is a pic of a april 1960 slingerland bass drum with torpedo bass drum T-rods with the old style claws. like ludwig nothing is or was wasted by Slingerland.
