1962/3 The earliest keller shell three ply drums wore B&B lugs. Beavertails first appear in the upper 30K Holiday tag range, low 3K in powertones, and aprox. 2800 in Dynasonics. There was overlap.I have COB Dynasonic #2811with original Beavertails. I have seen a few higher numbers with B&B.
So pre- 62' Rogers will likely be Jasper shells?
The reason I'm asking is; I need two tom shells to complete a kit I'm building. I'd like to use some old Maple Jasper shells for them, if they can be had. I figured I'd keep my eyes open for some orphan Rogers tom shells and use those.
I know Gretsch used them along with early Camco's, but the price on those brands might make it prohibitive. Who else used Jasper shells? I 'think' Fibes used Jasper shells for awhile too. It'll make the task of finding the right shells easier if I know exactly which brands to look for. Thanks for any info or help you can provide.
I tried to do my own homework by hunting around on the web, there just isn't much info on Jasper shells to be had.

These manufacturers did not run brand specific builds for all. They would do custom layups for companies, so you should be aware of that piece. I say this, as you seem to be very careful in your search. Gretsch used a different layup than Rogers, etc. Just putting that out there.
