Questions about Rogers serials Last viewed: 4 hours ago

The Rogers champagne sparkle kit I just picked up has close serial #s. The toms are 89XXXs and kick and floor 90XXXs. The Powertone snare is is 19XXX. The updated dating guide i grabbed has 69xxx-90xxx for 1967 Holiday, but the Powertone serials 18xxx-21xxx correspond to 1968. I'm to assume this would make this kit early 1968?

Early 1968 would be a good assessment for the sale date. You bass and toms should have speckled interiors with round head screws and big washers. While Holiday badges ranged from about 69000-90000 in 1967, early 67 Holidays had solid gray interiors and late 67's had speckled interiors. Your set was probably purchased in 68 with a recently made Powertone and late 67 bass and toms pulled from the warehouse. I'd like to know if Dan C concurs.

Aha. Just as I thought. I continue to record interior finishes, hardware, screws, lug types, hoops, t-rods, etc by original serial numbers just to know when factory assembly changes were made. This lets me know if a drum I'm considering buying is all original or not. Post more pics when you can.
