I believe 58 is first year

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Hi Bun!

The kit in question is also a WFL & date stamped April 18 1956 in FT.

Have not been able to check rest of interiors yet but the set was born together as it's from original owner. I just don't see anything in any catalogs. Attached is pic of tom. Did this finish just sneak it's way into the line up?

I was just gonna say.... I've seen a couple of wfl badged black oyster items. A snare just went by on ebay just a couple of weeks ago..

I'm hoping that this may be one of the earliest runs of the OBP wrap.

1956 looks to be the year.

Early indeed. Very neat to see that with the mid 50's Wfl badge.

Well from my research & speaking to my friend at Ludwig & all the other input I received, this may be either a sample kit or one of the very first kits of Oyster Black Pearl. Dated Aug 18 1956. Gotten from original owner & I am 3rd owner. These will be here soon.

Wouldn't that make you the second owner if you got them from the original owner? You lost me on this one.......
