Thanks for the great info, so in your opinion what is the value of this drum? The store is asking $300 for it.

To put an end to this story, I went back one more time to look at it, and it left the store with me. I know it's not a vintage snare, and thanks for answering my questions. This drum sounds amazing and the sensitivity is outstanding. I work with a local community concert band, and this drum will get used quite a bit with them.
