Hello to all

Recently, I found vintage Ludwig bass drum legs (1/2") with brackets

This brackets have different plastic wing screw thread

One have 5/16" thread and other is 1/4"

On smaller looks like some kind of insert inside

Is this factory issue or someone changed it during the years?

Thanks!

one of ludwigs weaker spots, any thing made of pot or white metal will have threads strip out over time, one cure is to install inserts, that's may have been done here.

Thank you

Smaller wing screw looks like from base of Hercules cymbal stand, so maybe someone used that to fix

yes, one of them is from a cymbal stand. someone would of had to tap it out in order to fit it.

when they started breaking ludwig switched them to metal wing screws.

believe it or not people still look for those handles or parts/ stands with them. i sell them when i have them.
