Q regarding vintage Gretsch - GC listing Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Loading...

This set is at a GC about 5 hours from me. I just noticed it (10pm) and have not call them yet.

Pic Link: http://used.guitarcenter.com/images/products/106062797_lg.jpg

Ad: "Vintage 1966 gretsch 3pc drum kit condition."

No badges in the photo (odd). Is this likely a round badge kit? Did Gretsch make multiple kit grades back then? Any other thoughts? They are asking $900.

Thanks

jim

Doesn't even look like a vintage Gretsch wrap and it does look re-wrapped. Need interior pics to tell for sure what it may be. The lugs, BD T-rods and claws look to be Gretsch, as do the FT legs, although a mid-70's variant. 5 hours is a long time in the car. Requesting add'l pics would be a good next move.

Good luck.

That's a ridiculous price for that ... ugh ... small chip wrap. Man, that stuff is ugly.

Read this to myself. Sounds a bit strong.

Ok.

So, I'm not crazy about the small chip WMP they are pushing. I guess I didn't need to come across so intense. Sorry.

Way to high of a asking price for the set..It's a re-wrap,70s floor tom leg's..Missing badge's?? But then again it could be a 50's Gretsch set back then Gretsch tom's had no badge's only snare and bass drum's...Inside photo's would tell you age of set silver paint with paper tag's=1960's..The 50's no paper tag's and no silver paint....Mikey
