Does anyone have a piece of psychedelic red wrap? I need to wrap an 8x12 tom. Something from 1968ish.

You cold try Jack Lawton, but even if he did have original 68 wrap....it's going to cost major dollars.Might as well look for an orphan from late 68.

That`s a very rare wrap and sincerely wish you good luck in finding it.As tamadrm has said... Jack Lawton will be able to point you in the right direction if he doesn`t have it.

Jason if all trails dead end try Bum Wraps. Think someone here had them create a bowling ball/oyster pearl of some kind. He took pics and scanned them or something along those lines. They did the rest and not too expensive as I recall. I really really REALLY wish some of the current drum comp's would revist the older wrap colors and reintroduce them again! I know many were not big sellers at the time. But each has a pretty good following somewhat today. Like the yellow nicotine pearl Gretsch has. :D

That bum wrap company seems like they are doing some cool things! They have had several drums on ebay with a citrius mod reissue and it looked great IMO!

I've actually talked to bumwrap. That option is definitely on the table and I'll have to send a drum in as psych red varies wildly and I'd want it to match proper. I just oredered some citrus mod for a set of 68 shells i have so we'll see how that goes. I really haven't tried hunting original stuff yet, so I figured I'd put it out there. I've seen jerry had a peice at one time as well as butch some years back. So, here's to hoping!

For comparison here is my original 1967 Ludwig Psych Red kit with the original wrap still on it (it has never peeled or separated and is in amazing condition given its age). The kit has the rare 14" floor tom. White shells and the supraphonic snare has a date stamp of Nov 3 1967 in it and all the serial numbers being 552XXX-love this kit.

1967 Ludwig Psychedelic Red Downbeat Kit (all original)w/14 in floor tom

Noble and Cooley Horizon 6 piece kit in blue sparkle
2002 Noble and Cooley 4 piece Studio Classic in natural maple
