Progressive Jazz kit find Last viewed: 25 minutes ago

I was beginning to think some of you guys were the only ones to find great deals, but then this happened. 60s Gretsch Round Badge Progessive Jazz kit with matching snare in silver sparkle!! It evens comes with a very clean original snare and cymbal stand.

You'll notice the bottom hoop on the ft is missing. I had the seller send additional photos and it checked out (still in round and looks very clean). I already have a replacement hoop on the way.

I don't want to rub it in, so I'll just say I paid less the half what the drums are actually worth. I guess we all get lucky eventually This kit will be treasured and played. Score!!

So, does anyone have any 60s Gretsch floor tom legs? Maxwell drums has the repro legs that are on back order, so if I can't find originals, I'll go with those.

Beautiful!!!

I am a very jealous man right now, but I am glad you will brush them and okay them rather than flip onto eBay for a fast buck.

A beautiful kit! Glad you were able to get them for much less than what current sellers are asking. I see no problems with going with the Maxwell repro legs, which will look great on the floor tom! Congrats on your Gretsch kit!

Very nice, and especially so with the matching snare drum. I'd be really surprised if a set of legs didn't show up somewhere within a reasonable amount of time. Gretsch built a lot of those kits and a lot probably didn't survive in one piece, but parts should be plentiful.

Nice drums. I was fortunate to find a similar Silver Glass Glitter Progressive Jazz set, sans the snare, at an auction more than a decade ago. That set got me started on the hobbies of collecting and researching vintage drums.

Collecting information about the following for ongoing research projects:
Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
