Pro mark metal sticks

Loading...

Anyone ever have a pair of Pro Mark metal sticks, meaning they are made of solid metal, no wood. I have one and was just curious about its timeframe and what in the world ProMark was thinking.

As far as I know, Metal drumsticks were meant only for use on rubber pads as a "Practice" Implement. I never used them but recall that a couple of teachers recommended them here. The go used to be use heavier sticks for practice on rudiments.

Whatever they were thinking, you don't ever want to use them on your pies!

I don't even think they are a useful practice stick because of the rigidity of metal. It has to be transferring all that impact energy directly into the hands. Heavy parade sticks will do the trick if a workout is what you're after.

Too many great drums to list here!

Actually there's a company that makes weighted aluminum drumsticks for practice specifically to strengthen your muscles that you use when drumming. I bought a pair a few years ago at The Hollywood Drum Show and I use them as a warm up to get loose.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
