pricing a rogers drum set Last viewed: 10 seconds ago

Hey everybody,

I have a black rogers drum set I received as a gift a few years back. I m looking to sell this set but cannot seem to find anything about it. It is a black set with a rogers symbol and hi-hat. It says Rogers and made in Taiwan on all pieces. I posted an add on Craig list and a man called me and told me this set may be worth some money. I know I do not have too much information to tell about the drums but if anyone has Amy idea about these drums or can help look into them let me know!

Thanks, Justin.

Justin,

These are not real, vintage Rogers drums. They're cheap, modern, entry level drums which Yamaha sacrilegiously slapped the Rogers logo onto just to make students and unknowing parents think they were buying a name brand drum set. They do have their place though… a first set for beginners to practice on, or as interesting planters (just fill with potting soil and geranium seeds, water daily).

Sorry, but $75 - $100 would be a realistic selling price.

Yeah, even the age-old piece of advice "good drum heads can make any average kit sound good" doesn't apply here.

Sorry. Is Yamaha still selling these Rogers kits? If so where are they made? a 4th World country?

I think they quietly euthanized the patient. Buried him before dawn, and laid down new sod so no one would know. Rogers died a very quiet death.

I will never own another Yamaha product ... ever. Of any kind.

The @$$#0L3$ at Yamaha should have let Rogers die with a big bang. Just for good will and some nice publicity, they could have released a final, limited-edition retro Rogers set with high quality 5-ply shells and beavertails in Champagne sparkle or WMP. Even overpriced, it would have generated great attention in the drum world, and would have been a fitting ending to close the curtain on the reknowned Rogers brand. A missed opportunity.
