Was in attendance at Sarah McLachlan show last evening and was so moved by the music, the musicians, etc. Just an amazing thing how the it can lift your spirits into the stratosphere and get the endorphins moving.

Drummer was a person I had little knowledge of, Curt Bisquera. Ashamed to admit I've never consciously knew his name. Pretty amazing artist who's worked with the best. Just a great all around evening. Played what looked like a DW vintage-looking silver sparkle kit with a snare made by his drum tech, ____ Heuer.

An amazing evening. Check out the show if you can.

larryz!

Curt Bisquera!... first time I ever saw him he was playing with Elton John! I said WHO is this guy??!! He was great. Super SOLID, super groovin'... and you could tell he was holding BACK a lot in reserve. Sounds like you caught a great show, the added plus being CB!

larry - You touched on something important... the feeling that you get from listening to, or playing music. That's what got me into playing as a youngster, that feeling, that amazing feeling that you get from music.

My goal, every time I sit down to play, is to tap into that feeling. I clear my head and try to stay out of my own way and just -channel- the music. I try to let it come through me, unencumbered, playing only what the music is asking for. That feeling gets communicated to the listener. It bypasses the intellect completely and goes right to the Soul. When the music is good, it's better and more potent than any drug in its ability to get you really high, buzzing like a bee. That feeling came through in your post. I just wanted to acknowledge it.

I saw him give a clinic at a Chicago Drum Show. Awesome drummer and presenter. He has been around a long time.

Good comments all. I would have loved to attend a clinic of his. Good insight John. Good music is just so powerful. When a band is on I just sit there and smile. Everything is good in the world :)

A song that represents this is that long coda in Layla.
