Please do not take this as anything more than the very innocent question it was intended ...

Did these companies intend to sell pink drums and strategically market them as Wine Red?

-or-

Did they buy a more red wrap from the supplier and time has faded them to this very even pink hue?

I ask because I've seen Ruby Red Strata kits (and a few other examples) that were pink due to the fade. I'm nothing more than very curious about the Rogers.

They are beautiful, by the by.

Don' know. But this Leedy set does not have any fading whatsoever! It happens to be a great wrap. I've seen one other like it...a Slingerland, and that wasn't faded either. The Rogers set all seem to get this awful yellowing in its ripple. This did not. By the way, someone from this forum offered a fair price for this set and I have sold it to him. This set was beautiful enough that a guy stole it from me in 2005, and other things. He ended up serving 3 months of a 6 month sentence in Erie county jail. Got them back with my own sleuthing, as the cops weren't really interested in my problem until I traced it for them. So...pink or not, some people really love this color!
