I have this 2 WFL stands and a kick pedal that I am trying to figure out year and dates on. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
PLEASE Help with Year and Model!
The Hi-hats look like the model 1120 that I see in the 1951 WFL catalog (pg 35) and also the 1955 WFL catalog (the only two I have). I don't know about the foot pedal.
that appears to be a 1121 wfl stand. they were used in the 50's and even into the early 60's. yours appears to be the earlier one. the latest design came out in the early 60's but had regular slip on tips for the feet and a tilter for the hi hats.
that bass pedal looks to be a ludwig and ludwig new speed pedal. i think they first showed up in the 39 catalog. were used later than that as well.
ive got oone of each of those. the hi hat stand is my favorite. the bass pedal plays a little stiff. nice wool beater on that one as well.

He's actually got one of each pictured -- one with the button feet and one with the slip-on tips. They're both 1121's, though.
I appreciate all the help guys. Yes I guess I do have one of each of these stands. The pedal makes sense because I got it with my 1939 L&L duco kit.
Is one of the two hi hat stands more rare?
Thanks again guys for the help!
Isn't the 1123 the version Richard Starkey used?
i should have looked at all the pics...
the 1121's arent really rare but just good solid hi hat stands. the later model one was only made for a short time. that rubber cup that i mentioned that has the tilter is desired as it is the same one that the 1123(ringo) stand uses. it will also retrofit back to the old style 1121 stands. these stands are usually 50-85 bucks or so.
the 1123 stand that came after that is the one that usually brings the 150-275 range depending on condition. they were also not made long and ringo used one for years. he did however use an 1121 first.

Anyone have a pic of a 1123 they can post so I can see the difference between 1123 and 1121?

The pic I posted above shows both an 1121 and an 1123. The difference is in the pull mechanism. On the 1121, the stand's tube goes all the way to the floor and there's a little nub outside the tube that the pedal linkage connects to. On the 1123, the tube ends about 6" above the floor, connected to the base by a curved metal piece. The pedal linkage connects directly into the bottom of the tube.
The 1123 was soon replaced by the common 1123-1 (see the attached pic), which is mechanically similar but not flat-based.
On ec's hi hat,the down tube goes straight down,no curve to it,but still flat base...............is that unusual?
