I do not know exactly what you have, but the shell design, the hoops that seem to be Ludwig, the lugs, the strainer ,and the possibly original head(s), all point to Ludwig.

Is the batter head also an older Ludwig?

Yes, the extra holes may be a big clue as to whether the strainer or butt are original.

Regardless, it has a lot of Ludwig features.

Could be Ludwig, but 6 lug would point to something very early on..Standard model maybe ? Lugs may have been added and seeing as how they fit would make sense being a possible Ludwig shell.. Who knows? Good luck finding out..

Thanks guys for all your comments. The drum arrived today. It sounds great! I had a chance to have a better look at it and I'm still no closer to knowing what this snare is. It's definitely NOB and not COB which perhaps suggests it could be quite old. I removed the heads off and took some detailed photos of the shell. I'm hoping that somebody here will recognize this type of shell. It has some letters written inside the shell. I don't know what they could mean. Any help identifying this drum would be a great help. I'd like to restore it and I've no idea what strainer, hoops etc. should go with this drum.
