I picked up an old Marching snare and this badge was on it..Never seen one like this. What is it? it seems to be aluminum.

The Aluminum badges were used in the 40's.

Very well but the badge pictured isn't exactly like the reference. Perhaps they had many different ones. The badge that says President is not quite the same.

The badge listed in that link is exactly like the one you have pictured. Yours even has the hint of the coating as well.

It`s a 30`s badge.

I see no difference, Do you ?

One is brass and the other is aluminum. Also the one i have has a silver grommet.

The one I have pictured is Electroplated Aluminum, easy to polish off. All steel grommets can be polished to a shine.

Yours goes on a marching drum.
