Just bought a 8X15 mahogany Ludwig pioneer snare, 8 tube lugs, and appears by the pictures to have a new design throw off. Could this be? I thought they all had the pioneer throw.

Can you post pictures? Are we talking from the 30's, 40's? I'm aware of a 7x15 Pioneer, but not an 8x15. Again, pictures tell the story.

The add said 40's and had measurements of 8X15. I looked through all the catalog scans from this era and could not find this size offered and all of the drums pictured had pioneer throws. The size could be wrong but there was a clear picture of the throw and I seen no extra holes, drum looks original.
I may have to wait till it gets here to know.
