Looking for a Pink Oyster Shell kit from the mid to early '60's. This is a picture of me in 1975 with my kit (that my parents sold when I went away to college). Would love to get it back...

Welcome to the forum,

It looks like you may have a Slingerland kit in your Pic?

Vintage Pink pearl kits are pretty uncommon, but they are out there,I would start searching E bay,Craigslist ,and vintage drum dealers.

Out of all the pink vintage kits I have seen on these forums the slingerlands seem to be the most common IIRC.

Is the kit in the picture a MIJ kit? Finish looks to be a pink marine pearl not an oyster pink. I would assume either finish is going to be hard to find. Good luck with your search!

Cruncher - wait until your parents go out, then sneak in and sell their living room set to the first passerby on the street for $5.00. That'll teach em! lol

Welcome to VDF!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

That is a wonderful picture, I just love it :)

I wonder what your parents were thinking of when they sold those beautiful drums, have you forgiven them?

Should you ever find a kit like that again (and I hope you do) please promise to put the same bass drum head back on the new kit, it is so 70´s ;)

I do hope you find them.
