Blair as you might remember I have this late 50's 3ply kit.

They came from the factory as a complete kit with mixed ply........all the drums are 3ply except the 6ply floor tom.

The hoops are all factory original except for the BD reso. It had some rot damage and I replaced it with an era correct 3ply hoop.

What I am trying to do is..

Get a few pics of 3 ply 14-14 hoops...I think they used more then 1 type..but am not positive..

I SORTA recall the hoops on the two-14-14 3 plies I had almost going up to a point..NOT like the rim Rik showed.....I think mine were called "light die casts".

The rim he shows is like the rim you would find on a early 50's Gretsch 12 or 13 tom....very thin......
