When I'm practicing, our Lab (she is a mixed breed.. but she is mostly black so we say Lab so as not to embarass her) anyway she comes down to the basement and squeezes in past the floor tom to rest her chin on my right leg. Her head bounces up and down with every beat... I get to laughing at her ears flapping and completely lose the groove...Falling Do

Hey Lynn, I got one just like yours... black as sin! Her name is, Coochie. She has two reactions to drums; she either runs like Hell, or she just sleeps through it!

I have a cat and a dog story. First, I have an all black cat (see picture) that was rescued by a friend when his tail was caught in a conveyor at an airport. We call him Jet...go figure. Anyway, he used to spray before we had him turned into an "it." He had the largest set I'd ever seen on a cat, so I dealt with it for a long time, out of respect for - and the fact that my friends would comment on - his "manhood." Anyway, I had him neutered a few days after he sprayed my cymbal bag, which stained the bottom hihat cymbal I was using at the time. He hasn't sprayed anything since. My dog story is similar to John's (Purdie Shuffle) cat story. I keep a kit in the lead guitarist in my band's spare room (our rehearsal room). His wife has a chihuahua that used to go in there and leave piles around my drums. I wish I could have caught that dog sleeping inside the bass drum...BOOM!!!Lynn

Too many great drums to list here!

You guys have some very handsome cats but my nose is getting stuffed up just looking at your pics. I wish I could get a cat so I could get rid of my unwelcome mice.

Mine is the definition of a scaredy-cat. He runs from the drums, and would probably run from the mice. Eye Ball

I've had 2 Boston Terriers in my life and both enjoyed drums. The first one would come sit in the room with me and lay there. I think he enjoyed it and the sound waves after he went deaf. Mine now likes to come in and sit with me even when I'm on a practice pad.

Matt - Dogs just love to be with their masters no matter what they are doing. I miss my dog 'Stinky' as much as I do other family members I lost. Had her 15 years. That dog saved my sanity through a very painful divorce. Her companionship and unconditional love helped to save me from deep pain and grief. She's been gone 2 years, seems like yesterday...

How do you tell who loves you more... your wife or your dog??

Lock them both in the trunk of the car for an hour and see which one is happier to see you when you open it!! Hurting
