Well I'm in the same boat.. looking for an 8" Export.. Meantime I'm using an 8"
Gretsch.. both the same colour so they look ok together.. both on RIMS and Gretch mounts.

I have 6x8 and 8x8 Maple finish Pearls from 1979-80. Double headed. Once I owned a 1980 8x8 double headed in orange flash.
The 1980 Pearl Catalog at DrumArchive has plenty of examples in various finishes.
