There are some things that concern me about this set:

1) The President line was Pearl's top-of-the-line stuff in the late 60s, just before they came out with the FG and W/FG lines in 1970/71. For the most part, the President line was offered in their "phenolic" shells. Anway, the first thing that jumps at me about this kit is the BD -- why does it have hoop mounted spurs? That to me implies it's not from 1969, but older.

2) The tom mount receiver on the BD is NOT what Pearl offered at that time. In fact, it appears to be of the 7/8 tube variety that wasn't available until 1977 or 1978 -- so IMO this set has been modified or "upgraded."

3) I think he's too high on the price. He's wanting $200 per drum here... At first I thought maybe the Slingerland SD was included, but then saw that it's an add-on.

So, I think your research has already given you the proper value...

As Bill pointed out on the bass drum wrong spur's and mount.Iam also thinking its a older bass drum...

Also if i recall right the lugs on the set are the first ones used on the Pre's line of drum and alot of these set's were Wood shell set's.

Shopgoodwill just had a mix match set of these Pre's sold for less than 200.00 a 4 pc set and the shell's were Wood...Mikey
