My son inherited a set of Pearl Custom Zs from his uncle. Two bass, snare, 4 toms and 2 floor toms and about a dozen cymbols. I need to insure them and don't know how much the set is worth. Can anyone help me get an approximate value. Thanks

Your son is a very lucky kid.

Your pearl kit in question is a sought after pearl drum kit , with out knowing the actual sizes of the drums and the models of the cymbals , you will have to provide us with pic's with out pic's there is no way to determin the actual value of your kit , condition is everything!.

Nice Drums for sure.

I believe that line has the best re sale value of all the Pearl offerings. They were Pearls premium/flagship line in the early 90's.They were a high dollar kit,up there with Sonor and DW. A nine peice double bass kit probably listed for 4500.00 bucks I would guess, and I am just talking drums and hardware here. You might check E bay for finished auctions on them.I don't see them come up for sale often. They made them both in maple and birch, and there was a champagne laquer that was even more expensive I believe.

Pics and sizes along with the cymbal brands models and sizes would help.

For replacement value I would see what a comparable Pearl Reference series kit is going for,or figure what 4500.00 is in todays dollars is, for replacement of the exact same kit I would say 2000.00-2500.00 at least.

Pearl's answer to Sonor's Signature Series, they got some really thick shells...

Never play it the same way once.
