Out of Round Club Date BD ?'s & SOS Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Happy TG everyone -

I bought this CD BD that is out of round on the reso side. I don't know if it was due to prior owner not using the reso skin & hoop, but it appears something occurred to goof things up. A head sits fine on the batter side, while not sitting smoothly on the reso.

Is there any fix at all to this sort of situation without making matters worse?

It looks like the drum is out because of the separation. The delaminating can be glued back into place, it`s not gone far,..there are several ways of injecting and glue that can be used. I would clamp the middle of the separation then the ends so not to make a ripple in the middle. I would also suggest Elmer`s water based wood glue, it goes on white but dries clear.

It`s not that bad and if you take your time and think,..you can handle it yourself !! Don`t forget to use something between the clamps and drum when clamping !!

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

I agree with oddball. The ring is still round, just clamp and glue the shell to it. Or at least start with that. Let us know how it goes, were here for you.

Hey Odd & Jeff -

You know what - I'll tell you that I don't usually hit other forums, the reason being that members here are so dang helpful it sometimes surprises me.

I will let you know how this goes. It might be a while. I'm a little bit worried that the portion that is NOT the re-ring seems pretty firm & stubborn. It'll be an eye opener for me as I usually do not have this sort of issue w/ kits I'm working on. Actually, I'm excited to make it work. The bd is from a BOP CD 12/14/20 I picked up last week.

Seriously fellas, you are always such a great, positive help in all matters.

Best - Chris
