Opinions on 70's Slingy wood snares

Loading...

Hi all, I'm looking at a late 70's 8 lug Slingerland wood snare that needs to be restored. It's pretty cheap hence my interest. What is the general consensus if any of the sound and quality of Slingerland wood snares from this time period? Thanks.

If the shell and bearing edges are in good shape it will sound just fine (to my ear).

All original hardware not badly rusted or beat to death will clean up great. A pic or two always helps.

Perfect drum to buy and practice restoration skills. If you don't like the sound sell it to someone that needs it and get the "next project".

Any questions just ask.
