One Of A Kind! MIJ Trixon Copy Kit!

Loading...

Hey John,

Nothing implied or taken. Just educating.

Here's a thread from back in August where another noob to the Vivant name came a knocking. There's some pretty good info here.

Take care and stay blessed.

Ok, so apparently, Vivant was a Chicago based company started in 1969 that sold imported knock-offs of Trixon kits. It's MIJ alright, the Luan testifies to that, but it is still a rare-bird MIJ. I buy/sell/trade a -lot- of drums. I honestly thought I had at least seen most of what is available in kit form out there. These just knocked me off my drum stool.

An MIJ lover is going to be very happy with these. The Crown of their collection. A conversation piece for sure.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Sure, Wayne. PM me an offer.

You do know shipping is going to be a bee-atch to Canada from US right? Expensive.

Wayne, if you want them, I don't mind doing all that customs paper work for you, but you'll have to pay -all- shipping on this one. I can't cut you any slack on the shipping. Let's talk about what can be done on the price of the drums... Fair enough?

BTW, I hope I'm not coming off like a hard-a$$ about the shipping. I got ripped off for almost $200.00 by a Canadian buyer over shipping. Long story... don't want to get into it. But shipping must be pre-paid along with whatever we agree on for the kit.

Wayne - I went to the USPS calculator to get an estimate on shipping. If I use a 24" cube box to ship the kit nested, the P.O. tells me the box is too big to ship. USPS is a no-go. The bass drum is 22" on the batter side plus lugs and hardware, so I would be forced to use a 24" cube. USPS won't accept anything that large.

It'll have to be Fed-ex or UPS. Either one is going to charge a lot to ship a box this large to Canada. Let me know what you want to do.

I guess now is as good a time as any to tell the Canada buyer story I mentioned. I sold a kit to a guy in Ontario, a member of a drum forum I belonged to. He sent me $ to cover shipping via USPS. I found out the hard way that the post office doesn't accept certain large sized packages. So I took the drums to Fed-Ex and shipped it to the guy. I paid an extra $170.00 (over what he had sent for shipping) to make sure the drums got there in time for his daughters birthday. The drums were going to be her gift. Long story short, the guy stiffed me for the shipping money. I ended up eating an almost $200. loss because I 'thought' I was dealing with an honorable guy. It's what I get for 'assuming.' I chalked it up to an educational experience. But that is why I'm being a stickler about getting paid in advance before shipping anything to Canada.

Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on me!
