After reading a few posts I think I'm a little (ok, a lot) out of my league; but Dave's already been so amazing about responding to my questions I figured I'd give it a shot. I (& my Dad) bought a 2nd hand 4 pc set of Ludwigs back in 1966 and I pulled them out about 8 yrs ago when my son wanted to play. Of course he wanted a bigger set-fortunately his teacher told me not to sell anything Black Oyster Pearl. David was kind enough to let me know they weren't really the Ringo set....but were Club Dates (I've since learned what that means); but the matching snare seems to be a pretty big deal he says (Jazz Fest). Hopefully we'll see my son next month as he returns from his 3rd tour in Iraq-but, as proud as I am; no, he won't get the drums back this time. I'll check back later with questions about replacing hi-hat & pedal (I hear they call it Kick these days). I'll send a pic if I can figure out how. Thx
