I posted about this acquisition about ten days ago. It just arrived about an hour ago. I had been looking for drums in need of a rewrap. These three came up on eBay for $250 including shipping from suburban Boston to suburban Dallas. They are all factory stamped inside the shells as late 1962/early 1963. There is a hole in the bass drum where the spur bracket was pushed in. The seams on all three shells are lifting. The wrap looks too clean to be original early 60's. Further investigation shows that the original rail consolette mounting holes had been filled in, but there are no extra holes on the wrap. Suspicion of a rewrap is substantiated. Therefore, I have not a bit of guilt about filling in the hole from the spur before reinstalling it (it was sent with the drums), filling in the holes for the dreaded Pearl mount on the bass drum and mounted tom. I already have a full drum set worth of new old stock Slingerland white sparkle wrap and a complete rail consolette. This will be a fun little project for this 20-12-16 Slingy set from 62/63.

More pictures of next rehab project before any work has been done.
good luck it will be a sweet little set when you are done...
The White Sparkle wrap was short lived from Slingerland. It always reminded me of old Aunt Bessie's formica kitchen table top. Funny thing is that my Red'White/Blue Slingy set had this same White Sparkle on it that was so delaminated and stained that I replaced that white with WMP. Now, my newest rehab set will be comlpetely covered with this wrap.
This picture is of the Red/White/Blue set is one that someone else posted. My R/W/B set is pictured with the WMP bands that I installed in place of the White Sparkle.
Great buy. I was talking w/the buyer through craigslist. He was asking too much there and the ebay market spoke well. Have fun!
