NV / Do Concert Toms resonate? J-M Video w/Bermuda

Loading...

Well...ours do...even outside!

This is a video that Greg sent me today that he took on his Canon Sure Shot camera...of all things!

We were setting up Bermuda's Concert Toms for a photo shoot (see picture below) and Greg shot this quick video.

I had never seen it till today.

Damn....listen to them toms howl!

I remember thinking at the time that they sure sounded good outside. This video confirms what I remember.

Crank it up!

Wow! That's a great sound for outdoors. Mic'ed up those drums are going to be monsters! Does Jon ever plan to play them on the road? Or, strictly recording?

What an awesome range/spread on that tom train! Talk about high to low... Shades of Blaine! I honestly wouldn't know what to do with that many drums in front of me. Probably play tom runs all day just for fun.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I know! That's 'kid in a candy store-ness'. Can that even be a phrase?

So far I've only recorded with them, and they were a bit damped due to close micing (from below, of course!) But I was thrilled to hear how they came across in real life, no help from room acoustics, no fancy recording devices. Very Hal Blaine on those, open, but articulate and punchy. Exactly what I hoped they'd be!

Sounds like tons of attack. I used to have 5 ply Slingerland concert toms, part of a "Country Rock" setup, and I was surprised at how deep and nice they sounded outside.

Did the weather allow for a dip afterward?

Cool! Kinda reminds me of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Q. When I inquired about a small 22,12,16 kit, I wanted the natural green glass but with small chrome tube lugs instead of the Leedy style hardware that your company mandates. Didn't Blaemire sell all of his drums with the option of picking your own favorite style of hardware?
