And by the way, those knobs are called "stops". Endless variety of tones are available by pulling out different combinations of stops. This is where the expression "pulling out all the stops" comes from, meaning "nothing held back".

So are you going to work your magic on refinishing this work of art, or keep it original?

Hey thanks for the education. I think this organ has been re-varnished by a drunken funeral director. If not the orginal finish had runs in it plus cross grain sanding scratches. I would like to re-do it but it will take away from my drum restoring.

I found out this organ is from 1890 and was product of Sears and Robuck.

For now, being Halloween and all its fun to make creepy haunted house sounds. Its easy to do, whoever did it in the movies could have been a beer drinking drummer.
