It's to screw with the hacker who posted the auction. You can tell by the "Email Me" crap within the auction. I reported as spam now.

From amosguy

It's to screw with the hacker who posted the auction. You can tell by the "Email Me" crap within the auction. I reported as spam now.

We should all be aware, and do as amosguy has done. The lower right corner has a "report item". Send a fraud report to ebay.

Good on you amosguy!

looks like another case in which a reputable ebay seller has had their account hijacked by a thief. what a mess.

If you look in their store it looks like other than the cornice auctions at the top (which look legit) they have been spammed with hundreds of fake auctions with the same "don't bid contact me by email" template. I reported another 4 just now (in quite different categories). How long does it take eBay to twig that it is a hacked account and do a takedown?

I suspect they hack an account but then wait to drop the spam auctions until the weekend starts and it's out of office hours for a small shop in Arizona. So the spammers get more hours before somebody notices. I wonder if the eBay fraud crew operate 24/7 so they can jump on this sort of thing? Or are they 9 to 5 M-F like a small shop would be?

I'm the one that bids 100 times every time this jerk posts an ad. It's been going on for months now, usually with a Ludwig B.O.P. kit.

The ad always says "DON"T BID"...so I bid 100 times at least. Takes a few minutes but I do it every single time. Lately myself and someone else had the bids up to $30,000.00 for a $1,500.00 buy-it-now.

The actual person that sold that exact set posted an ad last week stating this was a bogus posting.

It will be back, with in 2 days or less. And I will bid 100+ bids.

I also report it as a fraudulent posting but I bid 100+ times also. And keep bidding until it's pulled, like it always is. Until the next one, which will probably be today. We should all push the bids up to $100,000.00 or so each time. No way will you get "stuck" because the ad is bogus anyway. Next time you see 70+ bids, throw yours in too and we'll hit BIG $$$$$$$$$$$ quick. That's gotta hurt!!!!

Not sure how that will hurt, since it is not real anyway. Certainly no costs to the scammer anyway.
