Can someone please put a video link to "Us And Them" or "Comfortably Numb" or DSOTM title track as an example of Nick riding his Ride cymbal that I like so much?

Simple, but so effective..I like songs like that..

Doesn't have to have a double cross flam paradiddle augmented in 9 over 5 for it to work..

Gracias...

Listening to "Obscured By Clouds" now. Will be pulling out all of the rest in the next few days. Mason is thrifty and wise.

From blairndrums

Live at Pompeii is maybe great from a drumming standpoint, but he was using mainly Paiste Sound Creations, and at least 1 sounds SO metallic!I think it's his Ride..I am surprised someone didn't ask him.."Do you have a Ride with some WARMTH in it?"I have said for a long time that I don't care much for SC's..But,with that being said, one of the best Crashes I ever had was a pre New Dimension 18" SC Short Crash (flat bell).Go figure.

As far as tone, pure sound....your right. The cymbal sounds are not as appealing to me either. I like them a bit warmer, but that aside....I speak strictly of his playing, not his set-ups....

I've seen Floyd live 3 times, which is about 10 times not enough...

My favorite footage is the Knebworth concert when they closed the show in the pouring rain.. Gilmore playing with rain running off him and his axe. Sends a shiver up the spine each time I watch it..

Cheers

Yes only 3 times.. I think they only came to Oz 4 times, apart from Roger Waters current Tour,,

The Knebworth 1990 concert was recorded By MTV and broadcast here.. I recorded it but only on Video Tape.

Others on that concert were..

Cliff Richard & The Shadows, Dire Straits, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Genesis, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney, Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, Status Quo, Tears for Fears, Ray Cooper.. and more

There is a DVD out, but not all of Floyds footage was included.. (You will find Comfortably Numb on Utube, and Nick lets loose).. maybe some more there too.

Cheers
