Welcome to the forum. Can't tell in detail what kind of shape they in from the pics, the most tedious endeavor is buffing out scratches in the shells, there are people on here who can advise you.Nice to see you have the matching snare, those are pretty scarce.Back in the day there was not near as many clear heads to choose from, now there is all kinds that you can experiment with.I would not muffle them either.

They aren't horrible.. I mean I've seen way worse. I do have a few cracks to deal with :( from the sound of it cracks are bound to happen with the acrylic drums. Now the hardware... sheesh that's a different story. I am very happy/excited that I have the matching snare :) LOL

Ok... then removing the muffles was a good move :)

Beautiful vistalite kit. I love vistalites I have 3 sets myself, blue, green and red. They sound great with no mufflers by the way. Welcome to the forum.

Thank you :D!!! Do any of yours have concert toms? I guess removing the mufflers was a good move... I'm not good at tuning and I hate the TWANGY sound... I guess it's time for me to learn tuning... I don't know why I haven't realize how important it is... I mean like my yamahas ( the ones I play ) aren't AWFUL but they certainly aren't Great. I'm hoping to learn :)

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Hi Flossie, glad you found the forum...

Did you remove factory mufflers or felt strips?

Hi Flossie,

I'm a newbie too, (my second post), but love that set!

Look at those nice big toms!

Color is great, too!

Personally, I like old stuff so much, I don't mind if they show their age with scratches and stuff.

I'm glad you're working on your tuning; I was the same way for many years, but tuning will really make your drums sound better, and will also make you listen better to how your drums sound.

Best of luck!
