I love the natural maple finish Ludwig drums from the 80's and I just finally found some at a reasonable price. The tom is huge (13x14), but the kick (16x22) and floor tom (16x18) are somewhat normal. They also appear to be in pretty good shape. I only purchased the three drums. Any thoughts on the huge tom? Is it odd to have a 22 coupled with such large toms? Also, are these called Thermogloss? I have always heard this term referring to 70's kits but not the later kits. Can't wait to get them and play them in my slop rock band.

There was a trend to bigger tom sizes and deeper snares in the late 70s / early 80s. I'm a little surprised the kick isn't a 24. My first kit that I ordered from the Slingerland factory in 1980 was in these big sizes. Nice looking kit. The big ride tom looks just fine on a stand like that.
