New here, just an introduction

Hey everyone, just thought I would say hello and introduce myself. I am from "The Maritimes" of Canada. I've been a drummer for over twenty years, mostly playing in local bands. I play a DW performance kit live, and an Ayotte kit with Noble & Cooley alloy classic in studio and rehearsals. I'm a K Zildgian guy as well. In fact, I had a drum set stolen from me 4 years ago, it made the local news and a few weeks after I got an email from the VP of Zildgian Canada, he told a story that when he was a young man he had his drums stolen. He wanted to help out and although I want an endorsed artist he told me I could purchase anything I wanted at his cost. I was so impressed by this kindness. Great guy, great company!

Needless to say I treasure my K's!

Playing drums has been a passion of mine though as long as I can recall. I have seen a lot of my country through playing music, paid for my education, been able to raise thousands for charitable organizations and benefits for people in need. I even met my wife by playing drums! I really do owe a lot to music.

I have often viewed this forum for advice, and with a recent local auction find I thought I had better seek advice on the rare items that I posted. Seems to be a great community of drummers on here! All the best with your collections and keep drumming!

Welcome! That is a great story about the stolen drums and I'm sure that was a hefty discount on the Zildjians. I wish I could help on your posts on valuing your new acquisitions, but that is way out of my league and experience! Good luck,Randy

Welcome to the forums. Question... any particular reason the Ayottes are locked up in the studio and the Dubs get to sing and dance live? other than the disparity of value between them....

Thanks everyone, yes PEI is a beautiful province!

The DWs found there way out gigging mostly for the Tom sizes to be honest. The ayottes are larger toms. Amazing drums but portability is key for a lot of the club dates I do now.
