New Guy Here in NJ

I've been lurking here for a while and just joined last month.

I've been playing since my mid teens. I bought my first kit, a Ludwig quadra plus, sound projector , in black cortex in 1979, wow that's a mouth full!........... I still have it!

I'm from Queens, NY originally and now live in Red Bank, NJ.

I'm still playing with a guitar player and great friend I met in HS!

This is a great place for drummers to share information and our passion for drums and drumming. I look forward to asking questions and becoming an active member of this community.

Wow, a Quadra-Plus with projectors - now that's a beefy kit. Cool.

I'm new here too - guess it's about time to post an intro too.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply. I was checking out the Ludwig catalogs that are posted here and see my kit listed as a Sound Projector 2. I'm not sure how long they kept this set in production with the 'scoops'. The toms are extra deep but without a resonant head the tuning is limited.
