I'm looking for any help I can get from the best minds in the drum industry. I purchased this Rudolph Wurlitzer snare drum back in '03 and have since taken the ripped heads off and waiting for some more hyde heads to replace. It measures 16&1/8 inches in diameter. The shell is brass. inside the shell is written 15/16. the 15 directly above the 16. It has wood hoops and the original "cat gut" snares with it. Also with it is 6 of the original 7 lug bolts with what I can only assume is a marching strap hook linking two of them together. Any help in dating this piece would be appreciated. Thank you.

Pretty sure Wurlitzer didn't make their own drums........
Most are Leedy,Indianapolis made for them......circa 1900-1915?

All the research I did I came up with the same manufacturer you mentioned, Leedy/Ludwig. Depending on the timeframe of course. Any ideas on when Wood Hoops were dissolved for Snare Drums?

Boy, the title of the thread threw me for a sec. I was thinking, "Try dating a real human. Much more fun."
